The Golden Rule
“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. ” (Matthew 7:12 KJV)
“And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.” (Luke 6:31 KJV)
My STINSON Ancestors
I submitted supplemental papers for two of my ancestors from Buckingham County, Virginia. They were approved in December of 2007. I then ordered my pins, and here they are.
Since then I have been writing a book that includes documentation on their STINSON descendants, so that others may be able to connect to these lineages and join the DAR on them.
They are Alexander STINSON Senior and David STINSON. The STINSON book is available HERE.

Wild Sweet Peas
“Beth had old-fashioned fragrant flowers in her garden, sweet peas and mignonette, larkspur, pinks, pansies, and southernwood, with chickweed for the birds …”

My Rock Garden
Some Spring day, perhaps, I will sit out in my garden and wonder at the many beautiful flowers, especially the tiny ones back here, in my rock garden and around its edges. I will stay quiet and listen to the gurgles of the fish pond nearby. Yes, I will park myself by the stone wall here, on a day when the heaven is as blue as the bluebirds that I rarely see. I will listen for the birds’ chirping, and take in the fragrance of the blossoms on that day, when it comes. I will enjoy my beautiful garden and see GOD out here.

The Men and Flags of Freedom
God bless all of the men and women of America’s armed forces on this Independence Day 2007. Because of your sacrifice and devotion, we still live free.

Pink Mexicans
I cannot remember its name, however I think this flower is “Mexican” something or other. About three years ago I planted one small pot from a nursery in my front garden. Now it has absolutely taken over almost the entire front of my house. It loves sunshine and is a most prolific ground cover. I did not expect a plant from Mexico to survive our harsh winters, but it has, year after year. Yesterday, May 13th, I noticed the first blooms that promise this to be a very, very PINK summer at my house.

Harbinger of Spring
I planted these tiny bulbs in the drearyness of winter. Now they delight my soul.
